Highlights

For Boys & Girls Entering Grades K - 8

Camper Groups and Units

Camper groups are made up of 8-10 boys or girls entering the same grade. Each of these groups belongs to an age specific unit that shares common activities and gets together for special programs.

 

Discovery Camp (Half day camp 9 am - 12:30pm)
Entering Grades K-2
A half day program designed as a camper's introduction to non-school organized activates in a group setting. Activities are well rounded throughout the morning ending in a hot lunch.  Extended morning care is available.

Pioneers
Entering Grades K-2
As safe and fun introduction to our camp.  Campers explore the activities with YMCA leaders who shape the day with excitement and new experiences.

Trailblazers
Entering Grades 3-5
Experienced campers will be challenged with exciting age appropriate activities such as the climbing tower, over night adventure and extended canoe times.  Emphasis in this unit in on increasing co-operation and responsibility, and challenging yourself to build self confidence.

The A-Team
Entering Grades 6-8
Camp Ohiyesa's oldest campers are immersed in the camp activities including the high ropes course, climbing tower and canoeing adventure around fish lake.  Working as a group to assist in the success of camp events and problem solving on "teams challenge course" insures long lasting friendships are made.

 

Camp Ohiyesa's Specialty Camps

In addition to the may great camp activities, these Specialty Camps are designed to let campers explore one area in depth.  All specialty camps are for boys and girls in grades 4-8

Saddle Club Day Camp - June 16-20 & June 23-27
Finally, a Day Camp program for the horse lover.  Each week is filled with lessons, ring riding, grooming, caring for and learning about horses plus trail rides.  Limited enrollment so register early!

ARTstravaganza Camp – July 14-18
Explore the artist inside yourself.  Learn the ceramic techniques of slab and coil construction, throw pots, make dream catchers, nature paper, tye dye shirts and more.

C.S.I. Camp – August 4-8
Learn all about solving mysteries using the techniques of the F.B.I. and Crime Scene Investigators.  Play paintball and learn team strategy, fingerprinting, shoe casting, meet real F.B.I. agents!

Bussing fee is an additional $75 per session.

A.M./P.M. Care

Camper care will be offered at Camp Ohiyesa both before camp (8:00 am - 9:00 am) and after camp (4:00 pm - 6:00 pm) as an aid to working parents. Breakfast will be served to campers in before camp care. Registration is necessary and must be made in advance due to space limitations. There is no charge for A.M./P.M. Care.

 

Lunch

As part of your registration fee, campers will receive hearty home cooked lunches and snacks daily.

 

Family Night/Campout

On Thursday night of each week, we offer a fun filled get together of our entire day camp family (parents/relatives/campers/staff) with a barbecue and campfire.

After parents leave, campers and staff continue the campfire with songs, stories and s'mores. Campers in the Trailblazer & A-Team units then have a sleepover. The program concludes at the end of the camp day on Friday.
