Introduction
Throughout the year we are all bombarded with requests for monetary support
by a number of worthwhile charities. Less often, however, we are asked to
contribute to places or causes that really and truly affect our lives. Anyone
who has been to either Camp Ohiyesa or Camp Nissokone knows that the camps are
special places; a place where children are safe, secure, learning about values,
and spending time making friends. The opportunity for children to do special
things they don't do during the regular school year.
Each summer is a great summer for both Camp Ohiyesa and Camp Nissokone, and both
camps receive outstanding evaluations. Plans are already underway for the
upcoming summer for the camps to be even better! There are many enhancements
each camp has on their "wish-list" and we are working to make these
things a reality; however camp fees alone will not cover these extra costs.
That's where you can help by contributing to our Strong Kids Campaign!
What is the Strong Kids Campaign?
Our Strong Kids campaign allows our children, this summer's campers,
to benefit directly from these camp enhancements. We ask you to think about a
contribution to our Strong Kids Campaign.
Contributions made to the campaign may be designated for certain camp
enhancements or specifically for use in providing families whose children might
never otherwise enjoy the experience of a summer camp. We truly hope you will
consider helping by making a gift to our Strong Kids Campaign.
How Much Can I Contribute?
Any amount is appreciated,
worthwhile, and makes a huge
difference in the camps and lives of
our camp children! For donations in excess
of $1,000 you will be inducted into
the YMCA's Chairman's Club and
honored at the YMCA of Metropolitan
Detroit's annual Chairman's Club dinner.
Your names will also be added to be on our
Donor Wall located in the dining
hall.
